Highly collectable from Day 1

Heading down under for this year’s Melbourne Cup Carnival on November 3 is this stunning electric Lexus LFA Concept, the successor to the Japanese manufacturers iconic V10 supercar.

Information to hand suggests the EV supercar will go into production sometime in 2027. It will make an appearance in the Lexus Pavillion at the horse racing event together with the Lexus TZ electric SUV and the limited edition RZ600 F Sport Performance.

The original combustion engined LFA was produced in a limited edition run of just 500 between 2010 and 2012 and today have become highly collectable. With a Yamaha-developed naturally aspirated 4.8-litre V10 linked to a six-speed automated manual transmission driving the rear wheels it was capable of a 0 to 100km time of just 3.7-seconds and a top speed of 325km/hour.

The latest EV LFA Concept is claimed by Lexus to prioritise a low centre of gravity, low weight, structural rigidity and aerodynamic performance.

The company has outlined a potential 0 to 100km/hour acceleration time in the two-second bracket and a range of over 700km. with solid state batteries suggested as a means of achieving the distance.

The project has already progressed beyond a static display, a pre-production model running at the Goodwood Festival of Speed last July.
